This Peace Corps Mama took care of me when I couldn’t speak Spanish at all, when everything thing was new and strange, and all throughout Pre-Service Training as my host mom and guide. From teaching me about bucket showers and washing clothes by hand, to always keeping me healthy and well-fed, I can’t thank her enough for helping me get to where I am today. It was so good to see her today at the Swearing-In ceremony for the new generation of PCVs. She told me how proud she is of my improved Spanish and of our service to her country. Thanks for loving me like you do, Mama Manuelita!
